The first rate braniac music producer Shi Kargo (from South Africa) delivers a hot, new, funky and resonant tune 'Funky Reel'. This time he is collaborating with the legendary bassist & heavy music producer, Vuyo Manyike.
The duo have been serving the masses with some hot tunes in their solo careers, creating household names for themselves. Shi Kargo's experience and impressive adventures through music has seen him come up with new, fascinating sound and melodies with some of the best collaborations locally and international like; Robert Glasper, Kierra Shread, Tom Misch, DJ Ganyani, Mi Casa, Muzart, DJ Clock, Garth Brown, Clint Brink, Khanyo Maphumulo, Hellberg - just to name a few.
Vuyo Manyike is a legendary bassist/music producer with almost 20 years in the music industry. In his successful music career, he has toured the world, playing and creating music for the likes of Dwele, Thandiswa Mazwai, Joyous Celebration, Sjava, Amanda Black, Shaluza Max, Zola 7, Zahara just to name a few. Just recently, he released his debut solo jazz album, titled 'Black & White'.
The fusion collaboration between Shi Kargo and Vuyo is just excellent: how they interact throughout the song; blending the dance funk beats with some jazzy guitar makes for a really exciting feel.
Funky Reel sounds ultimate and flawless. You can tell that two talented musicians were at work. This is a jam.
The newest track from Shi Kargo and Vuyo Manyike is an experimental fusion of jazz and funk, with a real electric sound to it. It is exciting and vast, spanning across so many genres that it is impossible to list them all. It is individual, which is what I have come to associate with Shi Kargo and the music which he creates - there is nothing in the world like his music, and there is nobody with talent quite like his.
