Panic! At The Disco

06/02/2019

On Friday 29th March, myself, and two other friends from school went to go and see Panic! At The Disco, who were playing at the O2 Arena, London.

We were driven to the O2 by a friend's mum. We arrived at about four o'clock, and went to go and have some dinner before going to wait in line since we had tickets for the standing area. The wait was long, and so frustrating - we were so close to seeing our favourite artist, but it felt like we were so far away.

Whilst in line, however, we met some nice girls from a school close to our own, and a girl and her friend who went to university. And then finally we went in... but our tickets were taken at the door.

Anybody who knows me knows that I have a thing for collecting stuff - especially things that I consider 'precious' because they represent memories. And so I immediately started to panic (no pun intended) because I thought that I had paid £3-£4 extra for a physical ticket and not a printed copy... and I wouldn't get to keep it.

So my panicking ruined the first two acts for me, Arizona and Mo. I have no videos or much memory of these two acts... however I went to go and talk to a member of staff about getting my ticket back, and they assured me that I would be able to collect it at the end of the show - so I was able to enjoy Panic! At The Disco and put my worries to the back of my mind.

The countdown was painful. Oh my gosh... I have never experienced time moving slower than it did for those 1000 seconds. But it finally finished, and the music started. My heart was racing in my chest, and I feel like the second that Brendon Urie jumped what felt like twenty foot in the air, my life was complete.

I sang along to every song, and recorded every one, too. But I won't bore you with the details and everything for every song... but I think my favourites were F*ck A (Silver Lining) and Girls / Girls / Boys and High Hopes.

During the song Dying In LA, Brendon Urie flies over the audience whilst playing his piano... and he came over our heads, and held our hands, and spoke to us. It was the most defining moment of my life (call me sad, whatever). But one of my other friends, Abby, actually cried. I had to hug her. Brendon is her hero, and touching his hand was something that she could never have dreamed of... so thank you, Brendon Urie, for making her so happy that she cried.

For Girls / Girls / Boys, I was participating in the hearts project, and I had waited months to be able to see the stadium lit up, and partly with my hearts - so seeing the room light up - for me, anyways - was a dream come true.

And everything was going well... until Brendon Urie played Bohemian Rhapsody, a cover by perhaps the greatest band who ever were, Queen. And that was when I lost it, and started crying. I mean, I was literally singing along, headbanging at certain points, recording using my phone with one hand, holding a cup of water in the other, and there were fat tears rolling down my face. I don't cry at much, but apparently, one of my favourite artists singing one of my favourite songs just does it for me.

The whole evening was amazing, and one that I will never forget. Quite possibly the best concert I have ever been too. I'll upload the setlist too, just in case anybody would like it for reference. I'll also be uploading a photo gallery.

Thank you to everybody who made 29.3.19 happen and so important to us. Especially to Panic! At The Disco, Brendon Urie, Zack Cloud Hall, Abby's Mum & the people that we met at the concert.
