Meeting Fall Out Boy today at HMV Manchester inside the Arndale Shopping Centre was something that I never thought I would have the opportunity to do.

I have loved FoB since I was about fifteen. They were my first ever concert, and I still remember the excitement of seeing them at the O2 Arena in London, even though I was in the very top stands and they were no bigger than pinheads when I looked at them.

But I love them.

And growing up has not changed that.

The event started at 3pm, but I had disabled access to arrived for 2:30pm and was escorted upstairs. I was put into a separate queue to the regular one and told that I, along with the others queuing with me, would be the first.

Half an hour to go.

Except it was more than half an hour.

Fall Out Boy kept us waiting until 4pm.

I was fuming. I hate being made to wait for people who are late. What makes their time any more important than mine?!

So when I finally did meet them, despite the excitement and the way that my heart was beating a mile a minute in my chest, I told them off.

Patrick asked me how I was. "Good, thanks. And you?" Patrick passed my art print to Andy, who signed it without even looking up at me, and then passed it onto Pete.

Pete looked up at me and smiled, "hey, you okay?" he asked.

I shrugged, "legs hurt, Pete. You're an hour late, but better late than never, I guess, right?"

He looked confused. At this point, Patrick and Andy have turned to look at me and their bandmate. "We're an hour late? Are you sure?" I nodded. "I'm sorry!" He seemed sincere.

It blows my mind that the band didn't know they were late to their own signing. Their managers didn't even see fit to pass on that little tidbit of information.

Pete handed me my (now signed) art print and wished me a good day. As I walked past, their photographer, Elliott Ingham, was speaking to a co-worker.

"She told them off? She told them off!"

I cringed.

I had just told off my favourite band. I had never intended to do that. I had wanted to tell them how much their music meant to me - how much I loved them... I had decided to leave out that I had once written smutty fanfiction about them, though.

But instead, I had told them off.

Whoops.
